Miss Alexis

A few weeks ago i had the pleasure of shooting the beautiful Alexis Bednarick for her senior portraits. She wanted images that weren't the stereotypical senior photos. We played around with a few different outfits in downtown Charlotte and i was especially excited to work with her gorgeous purple/red tinted hair!
Congratulations on your senior year Alexis!

A little California Portfolio

A few weeks ago while talking to my mentor Priscilla, I jokingly mentioned i wanted to shoot some portfolio in California. Not thinking i would even have the chance to, Pri was immediately interested in helping me out. She helped me develop a story and look, Pulled all her strings to help acquire a model and a MUA/Hair girl. The shoot was one of the best experiences of my photo life! Pri assisted me during the shoot and helped direct when i couldn't find the right words (even got surfers to get in on some shots!). I learned so much and feel so confident in what I'm doing now. The model, Faith Bentley, was wonderful! We all had great female chemistry together and i got everything i wanted out of the shoot. I feel so lucky to have gotten this opportunity, and to know that my mentor sees something in me that is worth working with. All i can say is THANK YOU, Seriously!

I am not posting many of the images as i want my portfolio to be a bit of a surprise towards the end of the summer. But here is a few images to tide you over.

Photographer/Stylist: ME
Assistant/Director: Priscilla Gragg
Model: Faith Bentley
Hair/MUA: Shrae Stanford

Shot in La Jolla/Pacific Beach, CA

Bokeh.

Bokeh is japanese for blur. It describes the aesthetic quality of the blur in the background of a photograph. This week we had to shoot a photo which showed bokeh. This was a very simple shoot and luckily my sister was nice enough to model for me late at night.

Small Format: 35mm portrait

Today we had to quickly shoot two portraits using our lens set at 35mm. These portraits were also used in our study of histograms.
I shot my beautiful fellow classmate Molly Mullin. You can also check out her work at:http://mollymullinphoto.blogspot.com/

Self Promo.

During digital class, john rash gave us about an hour and a half to shoot, edit and upload sort of a "self portrait". This was shot by my fellow classmate, Brandon Warren, using a Canon 5D Mark II with a lensbaby "control freak".
